Heron Cove was founded in Oakville, Ontario, with one guiding idea: that senior living should feel less like a transition and more like an arrival. We opened our doors believing that community â real, day-to-day belonging â is as important as any other comfort we can offer.
Our residence sits close to the lakeshore, surrounded by gardens and open sky. Over the years, we've shaped a home where residents move at their own pace, where meals are shared and conversations happen naturally, and where staff are neighbours rather than strangers.
We serve independent seniors who want the warmth of community life without giving up their privacy or autonomy. Everything we offer â from short seasonal stays to permanent suites for couples â reflects that commitment.

Executive Director
Eleanor has spent over two decades shaping senior communities across Ontario. She joined Heron Cove at its founding and remains devoted to its original vision of community-first living.
Michael Paquet
Community Life Coordinator
Michael designs and runs the social and recreational programming at Heron Cove. His approach is attentive and unhurried â he's always interested in what actually interests each resident.
Sophie Bergeron
Residence Welcome Lead
Sophie oversees the orientation and onboarding process for new residents and their families. She is the first point of contact for many, and she makes that introduction count.

Safety & Accessibility
All common areas, suites, and outdoor paths are maintained with accessibility in mind. Regular safety reviews are conducted to keep the environment comfortable and navigable.
Nutrition & Dining Quality
Our kitchen team prepares meals using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Dietary preferences and restrictions are accommodated as a matter of course.
Staff Conduct & Training
Every member of our team completes ongoing training in respectful elder care, communication, and resident rights. We hire for empathy, not just competence.
Privacy & Personal Information
Resident information is handled with discretion and in accordance with Canadian privacy law. We never share personal details without consent.
Resident Feedback
Monthly community meetings give every resident a voice. We also conduct quarterly one-on-one conversations to ensure comfort and satisfaction are genuinely maintained.
Environmental Stewardship
Our gardens and grounds are tended with care for the natural environment around us. We aim to reduce our footprint while maintaining spaces that residents love to spend time in.
